A Brief History
Askew Stone Works was established in 1911 by W.W. Askew and continued operation by that name through the leadership of his son, G.J. “Jiggs” Askew. In 1984 Eugene and Tammy Petersen began the third generation of local ownership, renaming the company Askew-Petersen Stone Works, Inc. To better identify the full range of products and services the company provides, they do business as Askew-Petersen Monuments.
In 2024 the Petersens sold their business to 2 local families, Caleb and Alicia Massey and Lucas and Carol Howard.

Askew-Petersen Monuments is a full service monument provider. We offer all types of granite, marble and bronze memorials, as well as accessories such as vases, portraits and benches. We are also able to provide all types of service work such as renovation of cemeteries, cleaning and repairs.
We are fortunate to have experienced professionals working in our industry as part of the team at Askew-Petersen Monuments. Each staff member is ready to assist at every step of the selection, creation, production and installation of our client’s final memorial to their loved ones.
